Our History

Ideal was formed in January 2017 to pursue the goal of achieving Forward Thinking Flowback. Since its inception, Ideal has strived to make flowback more efficient, safer, and more environmentally friendly. We are the industry leaders in green completions, automated flowback, and sand separation technology throughout every major basin in the US and Canada.

RUTGER NIERS

CEO

Rutger is a co-founder and investor in Ideal, and serves as the CEO of Ideal and of the Edge OFS corporate group. Rutger has almost two decades of oil and gas services experience in executive roles at public and private companies. Prior to joining Ideal, he was the General Manager for the Completion Services division at FMC Technologies and held various executive roles at Pure Energy Services prior to its acquisition by FMC in 2012.

Rutger has ten years of commercial banking experience with HSBC, where he earned his CFA designation. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta.

RICHARD DEFREITAS

President

Richard is a co-founder and investor in Ideal, and serves as ldeal’s President. Richard has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has experience managing operations and sales in every major basin throughout the US and Canada.

Richard started in 1994 with Alpine Oil Services. In 2001 Richard founded Tier One Oil Services managing and overseeing all aspects of the business. He sold Tier One in 2005 to Cathedral Energy Services, a Canadian public company. Richard was responsible for all functions at Cathedral’s completions division, including operations, budgeting, forecasting, investor relations and merger & acquisition analysis.

DAVID SCHAVERIEN

CFO

David is a co-founder and investor in Ideal, and serves as ldeal’s CFO. David has 15 years experience in oil and gas services in various roles including financial reporting, divisional Controller, sales and operations support, and now as ldeal’s CFO. Prior to joining ldeal, David was the Controller for the Completion Services division of FMC technologies.

David is a CPA in Canada, and a Chartered Accountant in Australia where he worked for PwC in tax consulting. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales, and an Executive MBA from IE Business School in Madrid.
